Margaret (Meg) Ziemann, is a Research Scientist with the Fitzhugh Mullan Institute for Health Workforce Equity and Co-chair of the Social Mission Alliance Research Advisory Committee. She has over a decade of experience in policy analysis, program management and evaluation, and mixed-methods research design and implementation. Her research aims to examine the effects of policies and programs on the contribution of the health workforce to advancing health equity, a relationship referred to as “Health Workforce Equity”. Specifically, Meg’s research portfolio and areas of interest within this field focus on the social mission of health professions education, health worker burnout and well-being, and the health care support workforce including direct care workers and peer support specialists. She is particularly committed to research that aims to inform policies and practices to improve working conditions and professional opportunities for low wage or marginalized segments of the health workforce and shed light on the value of their contributions. Meg received her Master of Public Health degree in health policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
