Toyese Oyeyemi is Executive Director of Social Mission Alliance at the Fitzhugh Mullan Institute of Health Workforce Equity in Washington, DC, since 2020. He has extensive experience in health equity practice and research which has impacted national primary care policy, health workforce diversity, and social accountability in health professions education. Prior to leading SMA, he was Health Extension Regional Officer in New Mexico, bridging academic health center resources with the prioritized health and SDOH needs of local communities and developing population health interventions. He is an inaugural Senior Fellow of the Atlantic Fellowship for Health Equity and dual Lecturer of Family and Community Medicine and Population Health at the University of New Mexico. He is a doctoral candidate in public health at the George Washington University and a recognized research and practice leader in transforming health professions schools in the United States to be more inclusive, equitable, and socially accountable.
