Mr. Oyeyemi is the Director of the Beyond Flexner Alliance. Mr. Oyeyemi completed a Bachelor’s degree in Community Health from New Mexico State University in 2012 and Master’s in Public Health from the University of New Mexico in 2015 with a concentration in Community Health. He is also a Certified Health Education Specialist and a former health educator for the U.S. Air Force. His research and practice have been focused on race and social inclusion, youth mental and behavioral health, integrated primary care delivery models, and African-American community outreach. In addition to those ongoing focus areas, and current efforts in health professions pipeline development and community health program planning, he instructs an undergraduate Health Equity and Social Justice course in the UNM College of Population Health, mentors pre-graduate health and pre-medical undergraduates, and continues to serve as a part time health educator for newcomers from African nations in New Mexico.
