
Simone Perez-Garcia
Lead Associate for Programs and Operations
Simone Perez-Garcia (she/her) is the Lead Associate for Programs and Operations at the Social Mission Alliance and serves as the Program Coordinator for the Office of Minority Health (OMH) Health Equity Leadership Development Initiative (HELDI) at the Fitzhugh Mullan Institute for Health Workforce Equity. Prior to her arrival at SMA and the Mullan Institute, Simone was the Administrative Assistant and then Program Coordinator for the Milken Institute School of Public Health Department of Epidemiology. Simone received an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Maryland and supported research relating to the intersection of gender, culture, and health during her time as an undergraduate student. Spurred by her interest in social justice and youth advocacy, she has worked in social service and pediatric healthcare settings, including Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. She continues to participate in youth support services and abolitionist organizations across the Washington, DC area on a volunteer basis and is pursuing a master’s degree in nursing.
