Kim Butler Perry, DDS, MSCS, FACD, is an associate professor and associate vice president of University Strategic Partnerships, A.T. Still University. She served a dual role as the inaugural associate dean of clinical operations ATSU-Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health and dental director/vice president for Affinia Healthcare, the FQHC community partner. Dr. Perry has served as the clinical dean at Meharry College of Dentistry, an associate professor, and course director for Dental Materials at Texas A&M College of Dentistry (Baylor College of Dentistry). She holds a master’s in Clinical and Translational Research with distinction from the University of Texas Southwestern; her research includes health disparities, untreated dental caries, and community-participatory research. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School Of Dentistry, a U.S. Army Dental Corps veteran stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, and Fort Bragg, NC, a mentor to students, faculty, and staff, and a contributor to the 2021 Oral Health in America: Advances and Challenges, NIDCR/NIH, the 2011 and 2012 National Dental Association (NDA), Chairman of the Board, the 93rd Past-President of the NDA (2017), appointed to the Federal Advisory Committee to the U.S. Secretary and Congress on Training and Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry (ACTPCMD). She is a member of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) Health Professions Education in Health Centers Task Force and Membership Committee. Dr. Perry is a member of several non-profit boards (NOAH-FQHC, A New Leaf, Social Mission Alliance (formally Beyond Flexner) and Corbin’s Legacy) and was recently re-elected for the third time as the National Dental Association, 2023, Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
