Candace Hsu Owen is the Education Director for the National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA). She is a registered dental hygienist and has a Master in Public Health and a Master of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of New Mexico (UNM). Her areas of expertise include interprofessional collaborative practice, oral health workforce, oral health equity, behavioral health integration, and increasing access to care for underserved populations. With NNOHA, Candace develops educational resources for health care providers working in safety net settings. These resources include national webinars, in-person training and technical assistance, learning collaboratives, and publications. Prior to NNOHA, Candace served as faculty at the UNM Department of Dental Medicine from 2013-2017. As faculty, she taught courses on interprofessional education, patients with special health care needs, and medical emergencies. She also served as the clinical dental hygienist for a special needs dentistry clinic. Candace lives in Denver, Colorado.
